Session Objectives:

As prevention professionals, we are fortunate today to have a collection of evidence-based strategies and interventions that have been shown to work effectively to prevent substance use and other problem behaviors.  The origins of this effective prevention toolbox are the result of over 30 years prevention research, which has provided rigorous scientific evidence of prevention methods that can  achieve the best outcomes. Further, based on the evidence, we have seen the development of a series of standards to guide programming and practice in the prevention field around the world.

This is the third in a series of Qualitative Methods Journal Clubmeetings hosted by Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) Substance Use Research Group, and organised by the Scottish Alcohol Research Network (SARN).

Ecolink Institute, India telah menjadi Pelopor dalam menyediakan Kursus Online tentang Kurikulum Perawatan Universal untuk Profesional Kecanduan dalam patroni dengan Program Penasihat Obat Colombo Plan dengan sukses. Ecolink adalah Penyedia Pelatihan yang Disetujui dari Rencana Kolombo dan telah menjalankan dua batch siswa dari lebih dari 10 negara. Ketika batch pertama menyelesaikan kursus penuh 8 Kurikulum pada 15 Januari 2021, aplikasi untuk batch baru lainnya dimulai. Mereka yang menyelesaikan kursus dapat mengajukan permohonan Sertifikasi dan kredensial ICAP.

Session Objectives:

This webinar will describe technology-based approaches in substance use prevention and health promotion. It will include information on how technology-based interventions can address sex, gender, and intersectional equity considerations.

This webinar will draw upon a scoping review on sex, gender, and substance use as well as a rapid review on interventions for intimate partner violence and substance use in the COVID-19 pandemic, both undertaken by the Centre of Excellence for Women’s Health.

Jennifer Boyd, University of Sheffield, will deliver a presentation entitled: 'Beyond behaviours: How health inequality theory can enhance our understanding of the ‘alcohol harm paradox’.

Scope:

The rising numbers of young people with high-risk substance use, especially suffering from overdose, is alarming. Adolescence and young adulthood (under the age of 25) is the period of highest incidence and greatest impact of mental health and substance use disorders, yet there are no youth-specific services in place.
