Alcohol Research UK Postgraduate and Early Career Symposium
Location: London, United Kingdom
The Symposium provides an ideal opportunity for early career researchers to share their findings, learn from colleagues, and develop their professional network.
The Symposium is designed for interactive presentations and discussion among participants.
This two-day course is designed to introduce clinicians and staff members from diverse professional backgrounds to the foundational concepts and skills of motivational interviewing (MI), including the underlying Spirit of MI, Four Processes, and Core Skills. Participants will have a number of opportunities for skill development through the use of role playing, individual practice, and interactive group exercises. Videos and live demonstrations will enhance the learning process.
Join Alcohol Research UK for their 2017 Annual Conference ‘Working together: People, practice and policy in alcohol research’, where they will explore co-production and collaboration in alcohol research and practice. The conference will combine presentations, panel debates, installations and interactive workshop sessions to encourage a dynamic and productive discussion of how alcohol research can deliver real benefits to individuals, families and society.
Cognitive behavioural approaches (CBA) encompasses a series of evidence-based techniques derived from cognitive behavioural therapy. During this training, delegates will learn what we feel and think determines how we act and that these thoughts can be challenged and intervened, therefore having a positive impact on behaviour.
