Ahsania Mission Female Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Center Observes International Women’s Day 2020

Reflecting the theme - “I am Generation Equality: Realizing Women's Rights”, Ahsania Mission Female Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Center organized a human chain formation followed by a discussion meeting in collaboration with Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) project UPHCSDP-II DNCC PA-3. The events took place on 08 March 2020.

Staff members of UPHCSDP along with center officials formed the human chain in front of the office in Mirpur, Dhaka; which was then transformed into a rally circulating the Mazar Road area. Assistant Director of DAM Health Sector, Mr Md Mukhlesur Rahman was present at the occasion. The discussion meeting took place at the UPHCSDP office, where Mr Iqbal Masud, Director of Health Sector was the Chief Guest. The event was presided by UPHCSDP-II DNCC PA-3 Project Manager Dr Naila Perven. Ahsania Mission Female Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Center Program Officer, Ms Umme Jannat conducted the discussion meeting.

A cultural event was held in the center at the afternoon as a part of International Women’s Day observance. Current patients, patients on recovery and all the staff members attended the program. On this occasion, center occupants prepared wall magazines reflecting their thoughts and decorated their rooms. Special meal was arranged at the center. At the end, participants and audiences of the cultural program cut a cake to celebrate the DAM gender equality policy which pursues equal right of well-being for both males and females.
