The Prevention, Treatment and Rehabilitation Section (PTRS), United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is looking to hire an international consultant where under the supervision of the Programme Officer (UNODC/PTRS) the consultant is requested to produce a systematic literature review, followed by a narrative report, that identifies evidence-based approaches for the treatment of drug use disorders and other mental health disorders in prison settings with a specific focus on low-and middle-income countries. Specifically, the consultant will be required to pay attention to scalable interventions in low-resource settings and with limited human resource expertise in health services.

We require that the consultant have a minimum of 10 years of relevant progressively responsible professional experience in the field of mental health and substance/drug use disorders, including with a view to prison settings. Experience in the area of drug dependence treatment and international work experience are highly desirable. Proven experience in conducting systematic literature reviews and related publications in the field of health, mental health, substance use disorder treatment and criminal justice system settings required.

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English, with excellent drafting and communication skills, is required. Knowledge of another United Nations official language, is an advantage.
