Description:

The relevance of local strategies or policies in the field of drug demand reduction is currently contained in various documents of International Agencies such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) or the Inter-American Commission on Drug Abuse Control (CICAD) of the OAS. At the same time, municipalities and communes, mainly due to the process of decentralization of public policies, are in need of giving some kind of answers on the problem

The use of psychoactive substances, although it is a phenomenon of global scope, assumes its own characteristics in each local territory. In this way, government micromanagement becomes relevant as it is the first point of contact with citizens and from there being able to integrate strategies with provincial and national levels.
