Webinar: Youth Mental Health and Substance Use: Building Resilience During Challenging Times

This webinar will be the first one of a series organized by OAS/CICAD and the Colombo Plan to support our Caribbean youth leaders during these extraordinary times. This specific group of youth we are targeting, attended the 1st Caribbean Youth Forum on Drug Use Prevention on October 2019 in Barbados, when they developed a prevention program to implement in their communities in 2020.

Due to the pandemic, their project implementation has been heavily impacted and our goal with this series of webinars is to keep them engaged as well as to provide them with practical tools and knowledge for them adjust their projects and, especially, address their own struggles.
 
During this interactive webinar, Dr. Abel will address how social isolation, the “new normal” and uncertainty about the future can affect youth mental health and substance use. He will discuss and provide practical tools for youth to deal with daily struggles and also to be able to support other youth in their communities.
