Welcome to the SPR network on prevention research in times of pandemics!

Livia -

Welcome everyone!

We invite you to join our online discussion on international responses to prevention research during pandemics

In the last four decades, pandemics have shaped global socio-cultural responses to everyday life. Global disease outbreaks come with multiple challenges and opportunities for prevention science, posing new research topics, methodologies, and ways to collaborate worldwide.

Some examples of diseases that have reformulated our understanding of prevention interventions are HIV/AIDS, Ebola, H1N1 flu, as well as natural events such as hurricanes, tornadoes and volcanic eruptions and associated crises. The most recent example is the world-wide outbreak of COVID-19.

We invite you to share your experiences, identify resources that are relevant, and indicate your interests in international prevention research over the coming days.
