UNODC and CILAD Advance Synthetic Drug Strategy in Côte d’Ivoire
West Africa is witnessing a rapid shift from plant-based drugs to synthetic substances, including the non-medical use of tramadol, as well as fentanyl and emerging drug mixtures that remain difficult to identify and analyse. This evolving landscape is having a particularly significant impact on young people.
ISSUP Côte d’Ivoire Participates in First Regional Consultation on Synthetic Drugs in West Africa
ISSUP Côte d’Ivoire, hosted by the Comité Interministériel de Lutte Anti-Drogue (CILAD) participated in the First Regional Consultation Meeting on Synthetic Drugs in West Africa, held at the Vienna International Centre from 27–28 November 2025.

Comité Interministériel de Lutte Anti-Drogue (CILAD) [Bakanlıklar Arası Uyuşturucu Kontrol Koordinasyon Komitesi] ve ulusal UPC eğitmenleri havuzundan iki eğitmen: Dr Badou Roger (GCCC Komiseri)- Dr KOUAKOU Issouf (ICAP Önleme UPC), 29 Temmuz - 3 Ağustos 2024 (6 gün) tarihleri arasında Okul Kulvarı: Okul ortamlarında Uyuşturucu kullanımının Önlenmesi konusunda ilk yüz yüze eğitimi gerçekleştirdi.
ISSUP Côte d'Ivoire runs 2nd Session of UPC Training in Daloa
ISSUP Cote d'Ivoire in collaboration with ICUDDR conducted the second session of the UPC Curriculum training from 23rd to 31st August 2024. The training was held in the town of Daloa within the central west region of Côte d'Ivoire.
The 24 participants can be see in the photo below wearing polo shirts with the logo of ISSUP in Côte d'Ivoire national branded colours. Whereas the teachers and researchers from the university are wearing polo-shirts with ICUDDR logos.
