Adi Zuloff-Shani Ph.D. Psychedelics to the Rescue

Workforce professionalisation and remembering Jeff Lee

Shared by Goodman Sibeko - 21 March 2025
Prevention dominos

This week, we say goodbye to our dear friend and mentor, Jeff Lee, the founding Executive Director of ISSUP. Jeff was a steadfast advocate for the professionalization of prevention, insisting that those working in this field should be appropriately specialized. SUBSTANCE USES, DEPRESSION, SOCIAL ANXIETY AND ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT AMONG UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

Shared by Shammem Akhtar - 27 January 2025
The relationship between mental health, substance use, and academic performance among university students is complex but critical. Our recent study revealed significant correlations between these factors, highlighting the need for comprehensive student support programs. Interestingly, we found no significant gender differences, suggesting these issues affect students universally. How can universities better address these challenges? Let’s discuss! #MentalHealth #HigherEducation #ResearchInsights"

The current study aims to examine the relationships between substance use, depression, social anxiety, and academic achievement among university students. Given the rapid pace of modern life, understanding the interplay between these factors is increasingly important. The study sample consisted of 225 participants (95 male, 130 female) selected from various universities using a purposive sampling method. A correlational research design was employed, alongside convenient sampling, to explore the study's variables.

Un grande ringraziamento ai Capitoli Nazionali ISSUP

Shared by James Harvey (ISSUP staff) - 18 Dicembre 2024
