Tanzania Held The First Universal Recovery Curriculum Training in Tanzania
The first-ever Universal Recovery Curriculum (URC) training for Peer Recovery Support Professionals was held in Tanga City from 11–16 December 2025, marking a major milestone in advancing recovery-oriented care in Tanzania. The event was opened by Dr. Peter Mfisi from the Drug Control and Enforcement Authority (DCEA) and closed by Tanga’s Deputy Mayor, Mr. Khalidi Rashid, highlighting strong national and local government backing.

As part of the ongoing ISSUP Tanzania movement to promote evidence-based prevention and build national capacity, the Drug Control and Enforcement Authority conducted a specialized training on the Universal Prevention Curriculum (UPC): Youth Engagement in Drug Prevention from 20th to 24th October 2025 at the Amani Center, Kaloleni – Arusha.

L'ISSUP ha tenuto un incontro regionale per i suoi capitoli nazionali in Africa dal 21 al 22 agosto ad Arusha, in Tanzania. ISSUP Tanzania ha avuto il privilegio di ospitare questo importante incontro.
L'obiettivo principale dell'incontro è stato quello di rafforzare la rete dei capitoli nazionali ISSUP in Africa e fornire una piattaforma funzionale per discussioni specifiche per regione su prevenzione, trattamento, supporto al recupero e riduzione del danno.
Five Days of Medically Assisted Therapy (MAT) Training - MOROGORO
Health workers in MAT Clinic at Kihonda Prison in Morogoro received a MAT training package to enhance their skills to improve service delivery to people with opioid addiction. Much of the contents were derived from Universal Treatment Curriculum and presented by UTC Certified Trainers.
