ISSUP Bahamas Completes UTC Training
The ISSUP Bahamas Chapter, in partnership with the Public Hospitals Authority (PHA) Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre, hosted its inaugural Universal Treatment Curriculum (UTC) Substance Use Disorder (SUD) ECHO Training Program – Cohort 5. The training, which also included UPC 10: Introduction to Prevention, UPC 21: Trauma-Informed Care, and Introduction to Gambling Addiction, was conducted from 23rd February to 6th May 2026.

The ISSUP Bahamas Chapter, in partnership with The Gambling & Substance Use Addiction Program of the Public Hospitals Authority Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre, successfully conducted two impactful prevention sessions in Grand Bahama on 26 March 2026.
ISSUP Bahamas supports 5th cohort of Universal Treatment Curriculum at Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre
The ISSUP Bahamas Chapter, in partnership with Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre, has launched the 5th Cohort of the Universal Treatment Curriculum (UTC) for Substance Use Disorders.
The programme commenced on 23 February 2026 and will run until 6 May 2026, delivered in a hybrid format combining in-person and virtual sessions. A total of 23 professionals from a multidisciplinary team at Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre are participating in the training.

Universal Prevention Curriculum Workshop Strengthens Prevention Planning in the Caribbean
From 21 to 23 January 2026, ISSUP The Bahamas hosted an in-person Universal Prevention Curriculum (UPC) Workshop – Introduction to Prevention Science, Practitioner Series, in collaboration with the OAS/CICAD. The workshop brought together 17 participants from The Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago, and Barbados, fostering regional collaboration and shared learning.

CICAD delivered UPC CORE Training for Caribbean Professionals in collaboration with ISSUP Bahamas
Training on the Universal Prevention Curriculum (UPC) – CORE, delivered by the Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission (CICAD) in collaboration with ISSUP Bahamas. The training brought together prevention professionals from across the Caribbean, reinforcing regional cooperation and shared learning.
National Gambling, Substance Use and Mental Health Awareness Campaign
The ISSUP Bahamas National Chapter, in partnership with the Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre (SRC) Gambling and Substance Use Addiction Team and the LEAD Institute, proudly conducted a National Gambling, Substance Use and Mental Health Awareness Campaign across two major Family Islands - Long Island and Grand Bahama during October 2025.
