Connecting Sectors, Creating Impact

A United Response on Drugs
22nd September
23rd September 2026

Following the cancellation of the ISSUP 2026 Conference originally planned in Accra, Ghana, we are pleased to welcome our global community to Connecting Sectors, Creating Impact: A United Response on Drugs, a two-day virtual event taking place from 22–23 September 2026.

This two-day virtual conference will bring together international experts, policymakers, researchers, and practitioners to explore key issues related to the substance use and supply control workforce. Through a series of expert panel discussions, participants will examine current challenges, innovative approaches, and opportunities to strengthen collaboration across sectors involved in reducing substance use and drug supply.

Recent findings from the World Drug Report 2025 indicate that drug supply is expanding beyond traditionally established markets, with significant growth in regions where the market was previously more limited. This evolving global landscape underscores the need for stronger coordination across the substance use workforce to ensure responses remain evidence-based, effective, and sustainable.

This virtual event will bring together experts working across prevention, treatment, recovery support, illicit supply disruption, and justice responses to explore the evolving challenges and opportunities facing the global substance use workforce. Through expert panel discussions, participants will examine innovative approaches, share best practices, and identify opportunities to strengthen collaboration across sectors to support more coordinated and effective responses.

The event aims to foster dialogue between professionals working across sectors, highlighting the importance of a skilled, multidisciplinary workforce in addressing complex substance use and drug supply-related challenges. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with leading voices from around the world, share experiences, and gain practical insights that can inform policy and practice in their respective contexts.

We look forward to welcoming participants online for two days of engaging discussion and international exchange as we work together to strengthen the global response to substance use and drug supply control challenges.
