"Drink Less, Live More" is the message of a new advertising campaign launched by the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction (CCSA) to promote Canada's Guidance on Alcohol and Health. Starting in early October, the digital campaign aims to inform people that when it comes to alcohol, reducing consumption is the recommended choice.
The evidence is clear: Any reduction in alcohol consumption has benefits.

INTRODUCTION: The high rate of substance use highlights the need to intervene in the initial use prevention of smoking tobacco. The aim was to determine the efficacy of anti-smoking messages to motivate smoking cessation.
METHODS: It was hypothesised that the messages would reduce the frequency of smoking. The influence of the messages on the intention to smoke, negative emotions, perceived self-efficacy, and health behaviour was also measured. Relevant reliable and valid questionnaires were used to collect data for this experimental study.
To investigate how alcohol container labels can be used to build public awareness, the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction commissioned Enhanced Alcohol Container Labels: A Systematic Review and developed a summary of the report’s highlights. These findings will be useful for public health stakeholders, researchers and policy makers considering the evidence on alcohol container labels.
