This survey is a collaborative effort by ICUDDR, NECPAM and ISAM. Together, we are trying to assess the impact recent reductions in funding have had to the workforce of fields dealing with substance use related issues.
El "Curriculum de Prevención, Tratamiento y Recuperación del uso de drogas para organizaciones basado en la Fe" se desarrolló con el objetivo de fortalecer las capacidades de los agentes pastorales en la atención a personas con uso problemático de sustancias. La iniciativa, liderada por la OEA-CICAD, contó con la participación de 19 agentes de iglesias cristianas católicas y no católicas, generando un espacio de aprendizaje y colaboración. Dicho evento tuvo una duración de 40 horas lectivas desde el 22 de abril hasta el 26 de abril ambas fechas inclusive.
En el marco de la Semana ISSUP, contamos con la “Capacitación del Currículum de Prevención, Tratamiento y Recuperación del Uso de Drogas para Organizaciones Basadas en la Fe”. 🙌🏼
Durante este taller, trabajamos con hogares y organizaciones comprometidas con las buenas prácticas basadas en la fe, fortaleciendo sus capacidades para ofrecer una respuesta efectiva, compasiva y fundamentada en evidencia frente al uso de sustancias. 🧠💚

The comorbidity between depression and alcohol consumption is a public health concern, affecting progression, treatment adherence, and outcomes. Alcohol use in Latin America exceeds the global average. This study examined the prevalence of depressive symptoms and risky alcohol consumption, considering gender and age, in 4,890 participants (ages 18-64) from six Latin American countries.
