Outreach Courtesy Call to the Administration Police Service

On Thursday 16th February ISSUP (K) President Dr. Pamela Kaithuru and Deputy President Catherine Muthiani paid a courtesy call on Director Kanini, Head of Medical Services, Administration Police Services. They introduced ISSUP to the Administration Police Service and discussed possible areas of collaboration. The director was joined by Dr Muthondeki, Head of Mental Wellness, APS. The successful meeting will be followed by a proposal identifying areas and modalities of partnership.

ISSUP-KENYA met up with local entrepreneurs interested in DDR under the auspices of Country Music Cafe through the Addictions Prevention and Rehabilitation Association of Kenya (APRAK). Discussed was prevention training, consultancy & advocacy. 


We were led by our President Dr. Pamela Nkirote Kaithuru, Secretary Dr. Jackie Anundo accompanied by myself Albert Muraya as PR/Media lead.

ISSUP Kenya meeting with Women In Mental Health Interventions and Treatment (WIMIT)

ISSUP Kenya President Dr. Pamela Kaithuru represented us in a successful meeting with Women In Mental Health Interventions and Treatment (WIMIT). WIMIT is made up of women who run facilities dealing with SUD's prevention and treatment, most of them aimed at supporting women. Deliberations included strengthening professionalism through trainings, capacity enhancement and networking. There was an opportunity for their members who had not enrolled as members with ISSUP  to do so.
