The development of a competent, connected, and sustainable addiction workforce has become an increasingly important priority in addressing substance use challenges worldwide. As countries continue to strengthen prevention, treatment, and recovery systems, international collaboration, professional education, and evidence-informed practice remain fundamental to building a skilled workforce capable of responding to evolving public health needs.

Recognising this shared commitment, the International Society of Substance Use Professionals (ISSUP) Indonesia National Chapter will host the ISSUP Symposium as part of the Asia-Pacific Society for Alcohol and Addiction Research (APSAAR) Congress 2026, taking place on 31 July 2026 - 2 August 2026 at the Aryaduta Hotel Menteng, Jakarta, Indonesia.

The symposium will bring together leading experts from Indonesia, Ukraine, Lebanon, and Singapore to exchange knowledge, share practical experiences, and discuss innovative approaches to workforce development across the fields of addiction prevention, treatment, and recovery. Through scientific dialogue and international collaboration, the symposium aims to highlight strategies that strengthen professional competencies while promoting high-quality, evidence-informed services.

The scientific programme reflects ISSUP's mission of supporting workforce development through collaboration, education, and knowledge exchange. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from internationally recognised professionals representing diverse areas of expertise.
