Problem Gambling Awareness Month (PGAM) is a grassroots campaign that depends on the participation of NCPG state Affiliate, organizational and individual members, state health agencies, gambling companies, recovery groups and a wide range of healthcare organizations and providers.

Selon l’Enquête nationale sur la consommation de drogues et la santé, les taux de consommation de cannabis ont augmenté en 2020, avec près de 50 millions de personnes de 12 ans ou plus ayant déclaré avoir consommé du cannabis au cours de la dernière année. Cette augmentation se reflète dans les données spécifiques à l’État pour la région HHS 8 dans cinq des six États (Colorado, Montana, Dakota du Nord, Dakota du Sud et Utah).

Des études limitées examinent comment les pratiques de guérison traditionnelles des Indiens d’Amérique et des Autochtones de l’Alaska et de l’Ouest sont combinées dans le traitement des clients autochtones. Ce webinaire discutera des modalités de traitement occidentales et des approches autochtones pour les troubles liés à la consommation de substances chez les clients amérindiens et autochtones de l’Alaska en introduisant une méthode culturellement adaptée appelée la « méthode Sweetgrass ».

A major new book about our understanding of addiction “Evaluating the Brain Disease Model of Addiction (BDMA)” is published on March 7, 2022.  This book seeks to advance the debate about the nature of addiction. 

In this Addiction Theory Network (ATN) webinar, the book editors provide an overview of its contents and offer personal reflections on its meaning and value to the field as we map out an agenda beyond the BDMA.  

Each editor will speak for 10 minutes and there will then be an opportunity for questions and discussion.
