Towards achieving a world free of drug abuse among the youth

President Yoweri Museveni has assented to the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances (Control) Act 2023 which among others allows the licensed Farming and use of Marijuana strictly for Medical use. The bill was passed by Parliament in August 2023 setting harsh penalties for a swarm of crimes related to substances abuse.

Menurut laporan WHO saat ini tahun 2023, Uganda menduduki peringkat konsumen alkohol tertinggi di Wilayah Afrika dengan konsumsi alkohol per kapita 12,21 liter di antara orang dewasa.

Penggunaan alkohol yang berbahaya dikaitkan dengan berbagai Menular dan Tidak Menular

Penyakit, kondisi mental dan psikologis, kekerasan interpersonal, cedera lalu lintas jalan, dan Kematian.

Tahun ini, ISSUP Uganda Chapter dan Uganda Youth Development Link (UYDEL) bermitra dengan kantor UNODC Uganda Country dan pemangku kepentingan lainnya untuk memperingati Hari Narkoba Sedunia dan Peringatan 30 Tahun UYDEL.
