The ISSUP Namibia National Chapter, in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Social Services, Directorate Social Welfare Services, Division: Substance abuse prevention, Drug control and Rehabilitation, will be conducting a training of practitioners dealing with SUDs at different levels of care from the 6th -10th of June 2022. Care for co-occurring heavy alcohol use & depression

The World Drug Report 2022 presents an overview of the current trends on global drug markets and includes the latest information on drug use, production, and trafficking.
It analyzes the gender gap relating to drug use and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The WDR 2022 also considers the potential futures for the global opiates market given the recent changes in Afghanistan, looks at the impact of cannabis legalization, investigates the relationship between drugs and conflict, and includes a section with a specific focus on the impact of drugs on the environment.
The ADDICTION Practitioners Forum 2022 will be held as an online CPD event on 28 & 29 June 2022 in association with ITTC and the ISSUP South Africa Chapter.
This forum will explore prevention and treatment modalities and capacity building for prevention and treatment practitioners.

Historically, relapse prevention has focused on behaviors and situational triggers. This new approach to relapse prevention incorporates the amygdala response and trauma-focused emotional triggers that typically lead to relapse even when things are going well. Participants will develop a new understanding of relapse prevention from this trauma-informed model of care.
