The Kettil Bruun Society for Social and Epidemiological Research on Alcohol was established in 1986 and originated in the epidemiology section of the International Council on Alcohol and Addictions (ICAA).
The purpose of the symposium is to provide a forum where researchers involved in studies on alcohol can exchange ideas about their ongoing research. The scope of the symposium includes studies of the determinants and consequences of drinking, drinking cultures and patterns as well as social and institutional responses to drinking related harms, prevention and care.
The #EIE2023 brings together individuals and organisations engaged in synthesising, translating, adopting and implementing evidence in human service practice and policy.
The European Implementation Event 2023 will take place in Basel, Switzerland, on June 8 & 9, 2023. The planning team is excited to announce that registration is now open and that Early Bird tickets are available until March 15, 2023.

Opioids remain the most lethal group of psychoactive substances, accounting for two-thirds of deaths related directly to drugs, primarily overdoses. Additionally, fentanyl and its analogs were present in 90% of defined daily doses of synthetic opioids seized in 2020.
