Preface

The Council of Europe is the continent’s leading human rights organisation. It comprises 46 member states, 27 of which are members of the European Union. Významné průlomové objevy ve výzkumu za posledních 30 let v oblasti prevence užívání návykových látek sloužily k:

1) zlepšit porozumění farmakologickým účinkům na nervový systém a zdravotním a sociálním důsledkům užívání psychoaktivních látek, zejména pro děti a dospívající;

2) vymezit procesy, které zvyšují zranitelnost vůči zahájení užívání návykových látek a progresi poruch souvisejících s užíváním návykových látek nebo před nimi chránit, a na základě těchto poznatků

3) vypracovat účinné strategie a postupy, které by zabránily zahájení a eskalaci užívání návykových látek.

The fourth European Conference on Addictive Behaviours and Dependencies took place in Lisbon from 23-25 November 2022.

Under the overarching theme of Global Addictions, LxAddictions22 showcased cutting-edge research to help characterise, understand and respond to addiction and addictive behaviours today.
