Tanzania Held The First Universal Recovery Curriculum Training in Tanzania
The first-ever Universal Recovery Curriculum (URC) training for Peer Recovery Support Professionals was held in Tanga City from 11–16 December 2025, marking a major milestone in advancing recovery-oriented care in Tanzania. The event was opened by Dr. Peter Mfisi from the Drug Control and Enforcement Authority (DCEA) and closed by Tanga’s Deputy Mayor, Mr. Khalidi Rashid, highlighting strong national and local government backing.

The UPC CORE ToT held from 3–8 December 2025 in Tanga City was officially opened by the District Commissioner of Tanga City and later closed by the Tanga City Mayor, highlighting the strong government commitment to strengthening substance use prevention efforts.
STRENGTHENING YOUTH ENGAGEMENT IN DRUG PREVENTION
As part of the ongoing ISSUP Tanzania movement to promote evidence-based prevention and build national capacity, the Drug Control and Enforcement Authority conducted a specialized training on the Universal Prevention Curriculum (UPC): Youth Engagement in Drug Prevention from 20th to 24th October 2025 at the Amani Center, Kaloleni – Arusha.

ISSUP realizó una Reunión Regional para sus Capítulos Nacionales en África del 21 al 22 de agosto en el Hotel Gran Meliá en Arusha, Tanzania. ISSUP Tanzania tuvo el privilegio de ser anfitrión de esta importante reunión.
El objetivo principal de la reunión fue fortalecer la red de Capítulos Nacionales de ISSUP en África y proporcionar una plataforma funcional para las discusiones específicas de la región sobre prevención, tratamiento, apoyo a la recuperación y reducción de daños.
Cinco días de formación en Terapia Médicamente Asistida (MAT) - MOROGORO
Los trabajadores de la salud de la clínica MAT de la prisión de Kihonda, en Morogoro, recibieron un paquete de capacitación sobre MAT para mejorar sus habilidades y mejorar la prestación de servicios a las personas con adicción a los opioides. Gran parte de los contenidos se derivaron del Currículo de Tratamiento Universal y fueron presentados por Entrenadores Certificados de UTC.
