Socios Internacionales

ISSUP juega un papel único en los campos de la prevención del consumo de sustancias, el tratamiento y el apoyo a la recuperación, ya que proporciona un punto focal para la información y el acceso a las oportunidades de desarrollo profesional.

Su establecimiento solo ha sido posible, y su rol y sostenibilidad solo serán posibles, a través de la colaboración y el apoyo ofrecido por las principales agencias internacionales que trabajan en el campo de las drogas. En particular, ISSUP ha podido implementar sus actividades en consulta con la Oficina de las Naciones Unidas contra la Droga y el Delito (UNODC), la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS), la Organización de los Estados Americanos (OEA) y la Unión Africana. Estas organizaciones se han convertido en Observadores Internacionales de la Mesa Directiva de ISSUP.

Otras importantes agencias regionales y nacionales de los diferentes países también han desempeñado un papel importante al apoyar la creación de ISSUP. Estas incluyen el Observatorio Europeo de las Drogas y las Toxicomanías (EMCDDA), el Centro Canadiense de Abuso de Sustancias(CCSA), la Sociedad para la Investigación en Prevención (SPR), la Sociedad Europea para la Investigación en Prevención (EUSPR) y la Applied Prevention Science International (APSI).

El Plan Colombo y su Programa de Asesoramiento sobre Drogas (DAP) han sido fundamentales para el establecimiento y desarrollo de ISSUP, al igual que la Oficina de Asuntos Internacionales de Narcóticos y Aplicación de la Ley del Departamento de Estado de los Estados Unidos (INL), que ha sido la creadora y principal fuente de financiamiento de la iniciativa.
