The First Universal Recovery Curriculum Training in Tanzania

The UPC CORE ToT held from 3–8 December 2025 in Tanga City was officially opened by the District Commissioner of Tanga City and later closed by the Tanga City Mayor, highlighting the strong government commitment to strengthening substance use prevention efforts.

From 17-20 April, 2024 ISSUP Tanzania had an orientation training to CSOs that implements Harm Reduction services to People Who Use Drugs in Tanzania on Basic Knowledge on Addiction and importance of harm reduction services.

Needle and syringe programs (NSPs) are a type of harm reduction initiative that provides clean needles and syringes to people who inject drugs (sometimes referred to as PWID) to reduce transmission of HIV and other blood-borne viruses (such as hepatitis B and C).
