Princess Mother National Institute on Drug Abuse Treatment (PMNIDAT)

The Princess Mother National Institute on Drug Abuse Treatment (PMNIDAT), Ministry of Public Health began operations on 1 January 1959 with two sections. The first section, the withdrawal treatment facility that was under the responsibility of Department of Medical Science, Ministry of Public Health could accommodate 1,000 patients. The second section, the rehabilitation facility that was under the responsibility of the Department of Skill Development, Ministry of Interior could accommodate 3,000 patients. Other than providing treatment services for addicts, PMNIDAT, or better known as Thanyarak Institute, also focuses on developing academic work such as doing research and developing knowledge and technology in medical science about addiction.
