Alternative Peer Groups

Adolescent Recovery Support Services, also known as Alternative Peer Groups (APGs), are designed for young people with substance use disorders. These programs connect adolescents and emerging adults with peers who are also in recovery, using the natural drive for peer acceptance to encourage positive behaviour change. Based on the idea that recovery can be both social and enjoyable, APGs organise engaging, peer-centred activities that make a substance-free lifestyle more rewarding than continued use.
