Therapeutic Community

This refers to a structured, residential treatment model designed to help individuals recover from substance use disorders through behavioural, psychological, and social change within a supportive peer environment.

In therapeutic communities, residents live together under shared rules and responsibilities, focusing on personal growth, accountability, and mutual support. Change is encouraged through peer influence, group learning, and community participation.

Treated individuals are guided by staff and peers, many of whom are in recovery themselves. These communities aim to foster holistic rehabilitation, promoting healthy lifestyles, emotional stability, and reintegration into society.
