ISSUP Kenya at National Recovery Month

National Recovery Month was celebrated in Kenya on Friday 27th September with an event at the Empower Her Recovery Centre - Nueva Annex (Ngewa House) with the theme Empowering Women in Recovery. The event was graced by ISSUP Kenya members Dr Pamela Kaithuru (chapter President), Catherine Mwati, Jane Wambui (executive committee members), Fatma Musau (former executive committee member), and Kui Mucara (founder Nueva Annex) and Nkatha Mwenda. Well in ladies!

ISSUP Kenya runs UTC 1 training for Congo Nation Sans Drogues

ISSUP Kenya organised a 5-day free training for the Congo Nation Sans Drogues advocacy group. The training was based on the Universal Treatment Curriculum (UTC 1).

Congo Nation Sans Drogues is a nonprofit organisation that focuses on prevention and care programmes for people affected by drugs in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Building ATI Initiatives in Kenya

Dr. Jacqueline Anundo and Jane Ndungu from ISSUP Kenya, formed part of a joint meeting on Alternatives to Incarceration (ATI) in Kenya. The meeting was held at EKA Hotel - Nairobi, Kenya with the purpose of building ATI initiatives in the country.

The meeting agenda included a discussion on ATI priority activities, an overview of the mapping of ATI practices in Mombasa and a mechanism to coordinate the ATI pilot in Kenya.

Join us for the launch of the ISSUP Kenya Code of Ethics!

In attendance would be the CEO C&P Board and ISSUP Kenya founding member Dr Matilda Mghoi accompanied by the former ISSUP Kenya trustee Dr Richard Gakunju (Former Chair GCCC and Clinical Director, MASAA).

The Code of Ethics will be presented by Catherine Mwati, the Ethics & Disciplinary sub-committee chair. It will be moderated by Albert Muraya.

ISSUP Kenya and ISSUP Uganda participate in "Connecting The Parallels Workshop Series"

ISSUP Kenya and ISSUP Uganda participated in a two day event dubbed "Connecting The Parallels Workshop Series". It was sponsored by Svenska Institute, Sweden under the East African Network (EAN) on drugs prevention and treatment. The EAN is made up representatives from Kenya, Tanzania, Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, and Burundi with an aim to discuss the importance of uniting both prevention and treatment to enhance to drug management in East Africa.

Semana Nacional de Prevención del Consumo de Sustancias en Kenia

ISSUP Kenia, en colaboración con socios clave, orquestó una serie de iniciativas impactantes durante la Semana Nacional de Prevención del Consumo de Sustancias, que se celebra del 19 al 23 de febrero de 2024.
