This refers to a structured, time-limited, non-residential treatment program that provides intensive clinical and therapeutic services several hours a day, multiple days per week. IOPs are primarily used to treat substance use disorders, mental health conditions, and co-occurring disorders without requiring detoxification or overnight hospitalisation. They offer a step down from partial hospitalisation and emphasise recovery through individual and group therapy, education, and ongoing support while allowing individuals to maintain their daily responsibilities.
