Recientemente, el Ministerio de Salud divulgó los primeros resultados de la encuesta de salud de 2016 – 2017 nacional (Encuesta Nacional de Salud, ENS). La encuesta fue transversal y utiliza una estrategia de muestreo al azar estratificado multietápico dando por resultado una muestra final de 6 233 las personas ≥ 15 años de edad, con representatividad nacional, regional y urbano/rural.
