With the increasing prevalence of illicit fentanyl, it is important for healthcare providers to understand the new hurdles they may face in treatment of opioid use disorders.
Children grieve in different ways. Military children face unique challenges after the death of a service member. Some may develop traumatic grief responses, making it more difficult to cope.
Here are ways to recognize and help your military child with traumatic grief.
Most of you who experience the death of someone important adjust and recover over time. However, some of you may have more trouble adjusting and may develop Childhood Traumatic Grief. This can happen if the death was sudden, such as from a homicide, suicide, mass shooting, disaster, accident, or an unexpected medical reason.
All of us face a variety of stresses daily. Currently, you may be dealing with additional responsibilities at work and new challenges with parenting. Consider your level of distress before deciding what approach you’d like to take to address it. Gauging your level of distress is as important as practising self-care strategies.

On June 3 Friday evening, 2022, a webinar was held to educate youth, students and professionals about a new clinical construct called Psychological Flexibility. The importance of this ability was elaborated in the context of managing addictive behaviors and the damage caused by substance use. It has special skills to teach for cravings and withdrawal symptoms reduction. More than 70 participants attended the webinar.
