Executive Director Alasana Drammeh and General Secretary Mamudou Jallow of the ISSUP Gambia Chapter recently paid a courtesy call to the ISSUP Kaduna Coordinator Professor Ronke Grace Awopetu who is currently in the Gambia as part of a team of 15 Nigerian professors and doctors sent to support the University of the Gambia (UTG).

DLEAG lança capítulo do clube sem drogas da escola Bakoteh

A Escola Secundária Superior e Sénior de Bakoteh, em parceria com a Agência de Aplicação da Lei de Drogas - A Gâmbia (DLEAG), através da Unidade de Redução da Procura de Drogas, lançou na passada sexta-feira um clube livre de drogas na escola.

O clube baseado na escola será usado como uma ferramenta de defesa para sensibilizar e defender uma escola livre de drogas e uma comunidade livre de drogas.


ISSUP National Chapter Launched in the Gambia

The Gambia has finally joined the prestigious list of countries forming the International Society of Substance Use Professionals (ISSUP). The small West African country recently formalized its membership in the global drug demand reduction body with a colorful in-person and online event that was followed by a webinar on “Community Resilience in Substance Use Management” which attracted participants from 66 countries around the world.

ISSUP Gambia Chapter Sensitizes Students on Drug Prevention Strategies

“Drugs are bad, you must not indulge in drugs and other illicit substances.” These were the words of Alasana Drammeh, the Executive Director of ISSUP Gambia while addressing a group of students at the Glory Baptist International School on Tuesday March 1st, 2022. Drammeh made the remarks at a workshop organized for about 50 teenage students as part of ISSUP Gambia’s program to sensitize school children on crucial preventive strategies to help them stay away from drugs.
