International Youth Day 2026:Webinar for on "Evidence-Based Drug Prevention

Speaker:

  • Mr. Iqbal Masud, Director of Health and Nutrition Sector of Dhaka Ahsania Mission and General Secretary of ISSUP Bangladesh Chapter. He is a senior public health professional with over 27 years of experience, specializing in substance use prevention, treatment, and policy reform. An internationally certified addiction professional and Global Master Trainer under the Colombo Plan’s Universal Treatment Curriculum, he has contributed to national drug policy reform as a member of the Drug Control Law Amendment Committee under the Department of Narcotics Control.

 

  • Ms. Amy Ronshausen: Executive Director of Drug Free America Foundation, Inc. and President of the World Federation Against Drugs, dedicating her career to drug demand reduction. Over thirteen years, she has coordinated successful grassroots advocacy campaigns for sound drug policy, tracked state and federal legislation, and trained prevention professionals at various conferences. Additionally, she volunteers as Executive Director for the Florida Coalition Alliance, linking over 30 community anti-drug coalitions. She chairs the Marijuana Task Force within the Hillsborough County Anti-Drug Alliance and participates in the Pinellas County Opioid Task Force. Her board memberships include Informed Families, and she is involved with the International Society of Substance Use Professionals (ISSUP) and serves as a trainer for the Universal Prevention Curriculum (UPC).

 

  • Mr. A. F. M. SadmanSakib: Student speaker and active member of the Ahsania Mission YOUTH Forum for Health and Wellbeing. He is an undergraduate CSE student at Bangladesh University. Passionate about tobacco control, drug prevention and youth empowerment, he has represented Bangladesh at numerous national and international advocacy platforms, championing stronger public health policies. Through leadership, public speaking, and community engagement, he is committed to inspiring young people and contributing to a drug-free future.

 

  • Ms. Livia Edegger: Deputy Chief Executive of the International Society of Substance Use Professionals (ISSUP). In her role, Livia oversees the development of ISSUP National Chapters. Over the past 10 years, Livia has been instrumental in the establishment and sustainability of ISSUP’s National Chapters around the world. She also coordinates the work of ISSUP’s Scientific Support Team to provide scientific and technical guidance.

Livia holds a Master’s degree in International Relations and Spanish as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Education. Livia has gained extensive work experience in the NGO and educational sectors in the UK, Germany, US, Mexico and Argentina. Prior to joining ISSUP, Livia coordinated the development, delivery and evaluation of prevention programmes specifically mentoring and parenting programmes.

Livia serves as the Chair of the International Committee of the Society for Prevention Research (SPR). In 2021 Livia was awarded the SPR International Collaborative Prevention Research Award. The award recognises Livia's significant impact in making evidence-backed interventions a reality in many communities around the world. Livia has also participated in an expert working group that guides the development of a peer-to-peer programme developed by UNODC.

 

  • Ms. OlhaMyshakivska: National Chapters Coordinator for the International Society of Substance Use Professionals (ISSUP).She is a psychiatrist who has practised in a Psychiatric Hospital and undertaken teaching duties at the National Medical University in Kiev, Ukraine. Olha was awarded her PhD from her work in Neuropsychiatry. She also has a particular interest and experience in the field of addictions and drug demand reduction. She has undertaken training in this field and become a National Trainer following her engagement with ATTC and UTC trainings.

Olha joins ISSUP with her commitment to professional education and the wish to see ISSUP build its contribution to drug demand reduction through its National Chapters. She supports the work and development of the ISSUP National Chapters in the Asian region

 

  • Prof. Dr. M A Mohit Kamal: Chair of the ISSUP Bangladesh Chapter. He is a distinguished psychiatrist and psychotherapist with extensive national and international experience in mental health care. He holds MBBS, M.Phil (Psychiatry), and FCPS (Psychiatry) qualifications and serves as Professor of Psychotherapy and Senior Chief Consultant in Psychiatry and Psychotherapy.

He is the former Head of Psychotherapy and former Academic Course Director of MD (Psychiatry), and previously served as Director of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), Dhaka. Dr. Kamal is a specialist in psychiatry and drug addiction treatment.

Internationally, he is an International Associate of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK), a Fellow of the World Psychiatric Association (FWPA), a Fellow of the World Health Organization (FWHO), an International Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (IFAPA), and a Member of the International Society of Substance Use Professionals (ISSUP).

 

Moderator:

Ms. MarjanaMuntaha, Coordinator, Ahsania Mission YOUTH Forum for Health and Wellbeing, Dhaka Ahsania Mission.She is a passionate youth advocate and public health volunteer from Bangladesh. She is actively engaged in substance use prevention, tobacco control, road safety, and other public health initiatives at both national and international levels through the Health Sector of Dhaka Ahsania Mission.She is a Global Young Ambassador for Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids (CTFK) and a participant in ASCEND: Leadership Development for the Future of Tobacco Control (2nd Cohort), organised by the Institute for Global Tobacco Control at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Her work reflects a strong commitment to advancing public health and empowering youth leadership globally.
