ISSUP Malaysia successfully convened its 1st EXCO Meeting for 2025 on 13 November 2025. The session was productive, engaging, and aligned with our continued commitment to strengthen prevention, treatment, and recovery support across Malaysia.
The meeting began with an appreciation to all EXCO members for their ongoing dedication. Emphasis was placed on maintaining ISSUP Malaysia as a credible, professional, and globally aligned chapter in the Asia-Pacific region.
2026 Work Plan: Strengthening Core Pillars
The proposed Work Plan for 2026 outlined key strategic areas essential to ISSUP Malaysia’s role and vision. These include:

Strengthening Governance
To ensure professionalism, credibility, and alignment with ISSUP Global standards, ISSUP Malaysia introduced several governance measures:

ISSUP Malaysia Code of Conduct (distributed to all members)

Mandatory Board approval for all ISSUP representation at external events

Opening of a dedicated ISSUP Malaysia bank account for grants and activities

Internal governance updates to support organizational growth
Youth Engagement
Plans to expand youth participation and leadership opportunities in prevention and recovery initiatives.
Funding & Sustainability
Discussion on pathways for fundraising, grants, and long-term sustainability of ISSUP Malaysia’s programmes and services.
