Commemorating World Drug Day 2025 In Kenya

On June 26th, ISSUP Kenya joined the global community in marking the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (IDADA) with a powerful series of community-based activities across the country. This year’s celebrations highlighted the organization’s commitment to prevention through action, creativity, and local engagement.

From Nairobi, Kajiado, Eldoret, Machakos, to Kakamega, ISSUP Kenya members mobilized to bring the message of prevention directly to communities. Key activities included:

  • Media interviews to raise awareness and spark public dialogue
  • Sports activities that engaged youth in positive alternatives
  • Entertainment and creative arts as tools for prevention messaging
  • Community dialogues and school engagements that empowered young voices
  • Radio and TV sessions amplifying the importance of prevention and recovery

These diverse efforts served as a powerful reminder that prevention is not just a message — it is a movement. The activities re-echoed the global theme, “The Evidence is Clear: Invest in Prevention"

ISSUP Kenya extends sincere appreciation to all its members and partners whose dedication and passion made this year’s World Drug Day a meaningful success. Together, we continue to champion a healthier, drug-free future for all.
