We are delighted to announce the recent successful completion of UTC 6 (Case Management) and UTC 7 (Crisis Intervention for Addiction Professionals) as part of the ongoing Domestic Violence Certification Course. The training took place in Freeport, Grand Bahama during August 2025 with 16 participants attending. Sessions were facilitated by Troy E. Clarke I, ICAP Tx II, UNODC Global Master Trainer, with participation from police officers and community stakeholders.
The ongoing collaboration between the Royal Bahamas Police Force, The National LEAD Institute, and international partners Colombo Plan DAP and ISSUP Global continues to develop a sustainable, professional response to domestic violence and related social issues in The Bahamas.
The final stage of this certification program is UTC 21 – Trauma-Informed Care for Adults, which began on 22 August 2025, and is scheduled to be completed in September, including a final exam and teach back for all facilitators. Upon completion, participants will receive Domestic Violence Facilitator Certification, formally recognizing their expanded expertise during a formal Graduation on 22 September 2025.
