Workshop: First Aid and Anti-Stigma Practices in Managing Substance Use Intoxications

On November 18, 2025, in collaboration with the Department of Emergency Care and Intensive Therapy, the ISSUP Kazakhstan Youth Committee, and its representative Dina Suraganova, a workshop titled “First Aid and Anti-Stigma Practices in Managing Substance Use Intoxications” was conducted.
The workshop was delivered to students of General Medicine and Emergency Medicine at Astana Medical University and aimed to strengthen participants’ practical skills in responding to acute intoxication cases while promoting non-judgmental, person-centred care.
The programme combined a brief, evidence-informed lecture, interactive clinical case discussions, and role-play exercises using UTC 1 materials. It covered the following topics:

2.⁠ ⁠An Anti-Stigma Approach as a Core Professional Competency for Frontline Healthcare Providers.
