To observe World Health Day 2026, “Youth Voice for Evidence based Prevention: Prevent, Don’t Promote” the youth seminar will be held on 08 April 2026 at 10:30 am (Bangladesh Time) at the Auditorium of Dhaka Ahsania Mission, Dhanmondi, Dhaka. The event is organized by jointly ISSUP Bangladesh Chapter and Dhaka Ahsania Mission and will bring together national and international experts, policymakers, youth leaders, and health service providers working in substance use prevention, treatment, and recovery support.
The seminar will be chaired by Prof. Dr. MA Mohit Kamal, Chairman of the ISSUP Bangladesh Chapter, a distinguished psychiatrist and psychotherapist with extensive national and international experience in mental health care.
Mr. Aminul Haque, MP, Honorable State Minister, Ministry of Youth and Sports will present in the seminar as honorable Chief Guest. He is a former national football captain and a prominent political figure in Bangladesh. He is a member of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and serves in the cabinet under the technocrat quota.
The program will begin with registration at 10:00 am, followed by a welcome address by Mr. Iqbal Masud, Director, Health and WASH Sector, Dhaka Ahsania Mission and Member Secretary of the National Advisory Committee, ISSUP Bangladesh Chapter.
The seminar paper will be presented by Ms. Marjana Muntaha, Chair of the Youth Standing Committee, ISSUP Bangladesh Chapter. She is a passionate youth advocate and public health volunteer from Bangladesh, actively engaged in substance use prevention, tobacco control, road safety, and other public health initiatives at national and international levels through the Health Sector of Dhaka Ahsania Mission. She also serves as Coordinator of Ahsania Mission YOUTH Forum for Health and Wellbeing.
Speech will be delivered by the honorable special guests-
Professor. Dr. Mahjabeen Haque, Professor, Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, University of Dhaka. She is also Former Chairman of Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, University of Dhaka. She is the director of Student Counselling and guidance Office, TSC, University of Dhaka.
Mr. Md. Golam Azam, Additional Director General (Joint Secretary), Department of Narcotics Control, Ministry of Home. He is providing strategic guidance to various wings of the department, including the Intelligence and Operations branches of Department of Narcotics Control.
Professor. Dr. Golam Rahman, President, Dhaka Ahsania Mission is a distinguished Bangladeshi academic, institutional leader, and communication expert. He is the Chairman of Board of Trustee, Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST). He served as the Chief of Information Commission of Bangladesh. He previously served as the Vice-Chancellor of Khulna University, Bangladesh.
The seminar will also include the formal handover the youth demands by the youth leaded by Ms. Marjana Muntaha to the honorable Chief Guest and Special Guests.
Before the seminar, the Youth Stand for Evidence based Prevention: Prevent, Don’t Promote will be organized by Ahsania Mission YOUTH Forum for Health and Wellbeing and ISSUP Bangladesh Chapter at 09.30 am at the roadside of Dhanmondi, Dhaka.
The program will be moderated by Ms. Rakhi Ganguly, Senior Psychologist, Health Sector, Dhaka Ahsania Mission. She is a dedicated psychologist and addiction professional with over two decades of experience in the field of substance use treatment and mental health care. With a strong academic foundation and extensive practical experience, she has been actively working in drug addiction treatment for the past 22 years, along with 11 years of specialized experience in family counselling.
