We are currently hiring a regular part-time Research Specialist. This individual will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of a new study that aims to adapt and test a cognitive-behavioral sleep intervention for use in emerging adults who report regular cannabis use and poor sleep. This study is funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and is being conducted in the Center for Sleep and Circadian Science (CSCS) at the University of Pittsburgh. The Research Specialist will be responsible for overseeing all research activities in the study and they will work closely with the Principal Investigator to ensure adequate recruitment and retention of participants, and to maintain accurate research documentation.

This position is grant funded.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the grant including recruitment, data collection, participant payments, budget management, etc. ·
  • Independently execute job functions for research protocol(s) including recruitment, scheduling appointments, obtaining written consent forms, collecting data by conducting phone or face-to face- interviews for research project(s) as needed.
  • Develop, maintain, and update documentation, including standard operating procedures, signature and change logs, and other documents required by Good Research Practice.
  • Contribute to developing, maintaining, renewing, and modifying IRB protocols, consent forms, and related documents.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule to ensure adequate numbers of assessments as outlined in the protocol.
  • Performs other research duties as assigned. 
  • Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
