Report on Treatnet Training

Report on Treatnet Training organised by Bayelsa State Drug Abuse Prevention and Rehabilitation Committee (BADAPARC) in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for counselors in secondary and tertiary schools in Bayelsa State.

Summary

The Treatnet training was organized by Bayelsa State Drug Abuse Prevention and Rehabilitation Committee (BADAPARC) in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency((NDLEA) for Guidance counselors in secondary and tertiary institutions in Bayelsa state. The training took place at Golden Tulip Hotel, Yenagoa between 29th -31st August 2022. The training which had forty-seven participants was facilitated by Dr Ngozi Anthonia Madubuike (Treatnet Master Trainer) and Dr Chia Francis who is also a Treatnet Master Trainer in Nigeria. The trainers strictly used the Treatnet Evidence-Based Drug Prevention Treatment and Care Training Manual, volume B: Elements of Psychosocial Treatment prepared by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) for the training. Participants' scores from the pre-test and post-test on each day of the 3-day training showed an increase in knowledge among the participants.
