Angela Elizabeth Bekederemo is an Addiction Specialist working with KARIS Family Development Initiative. She is a registered ISSUP International and Nigeria Member, with professional experience in alcohol and other drug use prevention, treatment, and strengthening recovery systems. She is actively involved in civil society advocacy on alcohol policy reform in Nigeria and contributes to multi-sectoral initiatives addressing substance use, child protection, and public health. Her work focuses on the intersection of substance use, social vulnerability, and policy development, including gaps in regulatory frameworks for alcohol control. Angela’s research interests include alcohol policy governance, youth substance use, migration and street-involved children, and treatment system development in low- and middle-income countries. She is currently engaged in academic research and preparing for doctoral studies in Social Work at the Department of Social Work, University of Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria.
