ISSUP Launches Global Youth Survey on International Youth Day 2026

On 12 August 2026, the International Society of Substance Use Professionals (ISSUP) and the ISSUP Global Youth Network marked International Youth Day with a special global webinar under the theme “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations.” Recording of the webinar is available here

A central moment of the event was the launch of the Global Youth Survey, a collaborative initiative developed by ISSUP together with the Drug Free America Foundation (DFAF), the World Federation Against Drugs (WFAD), and Fourth Wave Foundation (FWF), with the involvement and input of young people and youth networks.

The survey has been developed by young people and for young people to better understand their experiences, needs, challenges, strengths and aspirations, and to ensure that their perspectives help shape future opportunities, programmes and initiatives.

Take part in the Global Youth Survey

Young people, aged between 18 and 35, from around the world who are involved in or interested in substance use, health, prevention, treatment, recovery, policy, crime prevention and criminal justice, and related fields are encouraged to participate.

The survey is confidential and provides an opportunity for young people to share what matters to them and what they need from organisations working in these fields.

Making the survey accessible globally

The Global Youth Survey is currently available in English and Spanish, with additional translations being developed to enable participation from young people across different regions and linguistic backgrounds.

Planned translations include French, Arabic, Urdu, Hindi and Mandarin, with a potential Russian version also being considered.

Language should not be a barrier to participation in a global initiative. ISSUP and its partners want young people from different regions, cultures and linguistic backgrounds to have the opportunity to share their experiences and have their voices heard.

Have your say!

Your experience matters. Your perspective matters. Your voice can help shape what comes next.

Together, across different contexts but with common aspirations, we can create stronger opportunities for young people to connect, develop, lead and help shape healthier, safer and more resilient communities worldwide.
