Jo-Hanna Ivers is Associate Professor in Addiction in the School of Medicine at Trinity College Dublin, where she was appointed to Ireland's first addiction specific academic post. She is Director of Addiction Research Network Ireland and leads the Neurobehavioural Addiction Research Group. Her research sits at the intersection of public health and neuroscience and examines addiction and recovery across biological, behavioural, social and structural determinants. She served as Scientific Advisor to Ireland's Citizens' Assembly on Drugs Use and is a member of the Scientific Committee of the European Union Drugs Agency. She is also Adjunct Professor at the National Drug Research Institute, Curtin University, Australia.
