Czech Republic National Prevention Conference - October 2026
The National Chapter of the Czech Republic participated on the annual National Prevention Conference, held in Prague from 12 to 14 October 2026. The conference is one of the major events of its kind in central Europe and brings together experts and professionals from the Czech Republic and Slovak Republic.
One of the key topics this year was the Interactive Platform for Mental Health Support and Risk Behaviour Prevention (IPREV), including its integration into the national legislative framework. Discussions addressed the role of the SEPA monitoring tool, which is expected to become mandatory for all schools from January 2027.
IPREV is a digital, interactive platform designed to promote mental health and prevent risky behaviours among children and adolescents. Developed primarily by Charles University’s Department of Addictology, the platform serves as a central hub connecting schools, prevention professionals, service providers, and regional coordinators. It operates in Czech and supports the coordination and delivery of school-based prevention activities.
Another major topic was the funding of school prevention programmes in 2027. The Czech Government’s budget plans include increased investment in prevention, with approximately US$15 million reportedly earmarked for strengthening the capacity of prevention professionals. This funding is intended to support the development of the workforce and reinforce the delivery of prevention services in schools.
ISSUP Czech Republic look forward to continued collaboration in the years ahead.
