Dr. Abdullahi Abdulwahab Yakubu is a Consultant Addiction Psychiatrist and Academic Clinician at Ahmadu Bello University/Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria, Nigeria, with extensive experience in clinical psychiatry, medical education, and global mental health. He has strong expertise in psychiatric service delivery, mental health systems strengthening, and interdisciplinary research spanning addiction psychiatry, public health, climate-related mental health, and psychosocial interventions. He has a proven track record in postgraduate psychiatry/mental health training, programme leadership, and innovative psychiatric treatments including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). Actively engaged in teaching, research, and policy-relevant mental health initiatives.
Dr. Abdullahi is the Founded and chief executive officer (CEO) OF Excel Mental Health Foundation, a non-governmental, not for profit organisation that has provided mental health services and resources to over 50,000 individuals in underserved, hard to reach rural communities across Northwest Nigeria
