Louis Plottel is a PhD candidate at the University of Toronto. His current research looks at methamphetamine consumption among young men in Aceh, Indonesia, examining the impact of labour and economic development on patterns of drug use.
He is a drug user and harm reduction advocate, and has conducted collaborative research in Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, and the United Kingdom, focusing on drug studies and issues of gender and sexuality.
