Back in January, we told you that a new chapter in ISSUP training had begun - a fresh look at how we support learning across our global network. That chapter started with listening. We ran a training needs assessment to understand what members needed from online learning, and what we heard shaped everything that followed.
By March and April, that work had taken real shape. We selected the platform behind it and, along the way, became a NAADAC Approved Education Provider, opening the door to Continuing Education credits for our courses, trainings, and webinars.
Now, that groundwork has a name: ISSUP Academy.
ISSUP Academy is our new professional learning platform, built for everyone across the substance use and supply reduction workforce - health, treatment and recovery support professionals, prevention practitioners, those working in market disruption and supply, law enforcement, policymakers, and family and community-led groups. If you work in this field, this platform is for you.
For now, courses are self-paced; learn at your own time, at your own speed. Start one, pause it, come back next month- your progress is always saved. Trainer-led courses and other formats are already in development, so this is just the beginning.
ISSUP Academy opens its doors today. This first phase is a soft launch; an in-between step as we build toward a full launch planned for mid-next year.
Already partway through a course on HealtheKnowledge? No rush, you have until 31 December 2026 to finish it. When you're ready for what's next, ISSUP Academy is the place to go: certificates are issued automatically when you complete a course, and you'll earn badges to show off your progress on your ISSUP profile.
