Minimum Unit Pricing

One way to deter people from consuming excessive and harmful amounts of alcohol is through alcohol pricing policies. One such policy is the Minimum Unit Pricing.
Several countries, including Scotland, Canada, certain states of the USA, Russia, Moldova, Ukraine and Uzbekistan, have adopted different forms of Minimum Unit Pricing.
Australia is yet to formally adopt Minimum Unit Pricing. However, the Alcohol and Drug Foundation, Australia’s leading organisation committed to preventing and minimising the harm caused by alcohol and other drugs, has recently published an insight paper that explains:

- how minimum unit pricing might work in Australia
