ISSUP Czech Republic: One Step Further from Addictions?

We introduce to you the National Portal of Addictology Screening (NPAS).

NPAS is a newly developed online platform focused on the prevention, early detection, and intervention of substance use and behavioral addictions in the Czech Republic. It offers a wide range of screening tools for adults, children, adolescents, and specific target groups, along with methodologies for brief interventions and harm reduction tools designed to minimize risks.The portal also provides educational and methodological support for professionals in healthcare, education, and social services through online courses focused on addictology and the practical implementation of screening.

At the same time, NPAS serves as a publicly accessible database of validated tools and methodologies that facilitate the early identification of risky behaviors and support professionals in effectively responding to emerging addiction-related issues, thereby contributing to the improvement of prevention strategies and the overall quality of addiction care in the Czech Republic.

The NPAS portal is closely linked to and complements the IPREV prevention platform. It forms part of the so-called indicated prevention and expands its scope and concept specifically by incorporating the dimension of screening and brief interventions.
