Advert for a Research Assistant to support a quit smoking trial in homeless centres

A full-time research assistant is sought to assist with the running of this trial which aims to explore the effects of e-cigarettes compared with usual care for quitting smoking when offered at homeless centres. The study is funded by the NIHR’s Public Health Research Programme.

About you

We are looking for a research assistant with previous experience in running quantitative research projects and excellent interpersonal skills to help support this exciting new project. You would work with a team of researchers in the Centre for Addictive Behaviours Research within the School of Applied Sciences.

The skills and experience you will need to be successful

  • A BSc and MSc in Psychology or related discipline
  • Experience in independently managing quantitative research projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively with collaborators (homeless centre staff) participants (service users), the research team and the funder
  • Excellent organisational and research related administrative skills
  • Open, non-judgemental approach to homelessness, nicotine and harm reduction
